1041025) Anglesite - Tsumeb Mine, Tsumeb, Otjikoto Region, Namibia Size: 3.7 x 3.3 x 2.5 cm (miniature) Price: $ 200 ex. Lloyd Tate Collection
An excellent glassy transparent gemmy colorless sharply formed anglesite crystal measuring 1.7 x 1.2 x 0.9 cm in size is set upon a matrix mostly covered by smaller crystallized anglesite. The prominent crystal is very sharp and in excellent condition; tiny microscopic chipping is sparse but present to some of the lesser crystals on the matrix. Overall in great condition damage-wise and quite choice for the species from this locality. Ex Lloyd Tate collection. Ref: Gebhard, G. (1999): Tsumeb II. A Unique Mineral Locality. GG Publishing, Grossenseifen, Germany, 328 p. 1043987) Anglesite - Tsumeb Mine, Tsumeb, Otjikoto Region, Namibia Size: 3.2 x 2.5 x 0.3 cm (thumbnail) Price: $ 285 ex. Lloyd Tate Collection
Superb loose pale blue translucent sharply formed anglesite crystal measuring 3.2 x 2.5 x 0.3 cm in size overall. The base is cleaved, otherwise this is perfect all around without damage. Ex Lloyd Tate collection. Previous label from the James B. Thompson mineral collection. Ref: Gebhard, G. (1999): Tsumeb II. A Unique Mineral Locality. GG Publishing, Grossenseifen, Germany, 328 p. A2005) Apatite-(CaF) - Beryl-Scheelite deposit, Mt Xuebaoding, Pingwu Co., Mianyang Prefecture, Sichuan Province, China Size: 7.0 x 5.3 x 3.9 cm (small cabinet) Price: $ 1800
Good pink apatite is known from this locality, but not very common. This is an excellent well crystallized small cabinet specimen with lustrous pale pink translucent tabular crystals of apatite to 1.9 cm in width nestled nicely amongst thin platy silver muscovite crystals. No damage. Very rich for the species from this locality! Ref: The Mineralogical Record 36(1), 45-57. 1041327) Barite with Malachite - Shangulowé Mine, Kambove, Katanga Copper Crescent, Katanga (Shaba), Democratic Republic of Congo (Zaïre) Size: 6.5 x 4.5 x 2.3 cm (small cabinet) Price: $ 275 ex. Lloyd Tate Collection
From the find in the late 1990's, these kind of "came and went" from the market quickly. Neat lustrous translucent chisel-shaped crystals of barite in a parallel cluster set nicely on matrix. The barite is green in color due to inclusions of malachite. Shows nicely all around 360 degrees. No damage. Size: 6.5 x 4.5 x 2.3 cm. Ex Lloyd Tate collection. B1020074) Barite with Pyrite - Frizington, West Cumberland Iron Field, Cumbria, England, UK Size: 15.5 x 11.5 x 7.1 cm (large cabinet) Price: $ 3000 ex. Dawn and Jim Minette
Large bluish-gray lustrous translucent tabular crystals of barite to almost 6.0 cm on edge forming an aesthetic 15.5 x 11.5 x 7.1 cm cluster with little matrix. The barite crystals are richly sprinkled with attractive sparkling micro crystals of pyrite. Minor rubbing and chipping is present on some crystal edges, the extent seen in the photographs. Considering the age and size of the piece, I feel that it is in very good condition damage-wise. Ex Dawn and Jim Minette collection #WW074 with data card. The specimen was part of the special Memorial Exhibit at the 2002 East Coast Gem and Mineral Show and comes with a label for such. A fine old British classic!
